GOP Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy makes waves almost daily now with his controversial ideas, such as the concept that there are only two genders and that there are three branches of government, not four. But perhaps the most provocative idea, or ‘truth‘ as he has coined it, is that ‘reverse racism’ is also racism.
Recently, Mr. Ramaswamy compared the left to the KKK when he was asked about their racist attacks against him, insinuating he’s ‘white adjacent’ or a minority traitor pushing white supremacy.
Mr. Ramaswamy has been getting the usual liberal media scolding for being so dangerous as to make what I would argue might be the best SAT question analogy between the KKK and modern-day left-wing racism heard yet. But I’ll let you decide if Vivek Ramaswamy crossed a line or just dropped a hard truth.

Who’s we?!
At a recent Iowa campaign event, Vivek Ramaswamy was asked about those on the left who would argue he shouldn’t be parroting GOP talking points, given the color of his skin. As seen in the tweet above, far-left ‘Squad’ member Ayanna Pressley insinuated that Vivek isn’t ‘really’ a minority because someone of his skin tone shouldn’t have the beliefs he does.
In response, Ramaswamy turned the tables on Pressley:
“Ayanna Pressley, she’s in the Congress today. She’s a member of ‘The Squad’. Her words, not mine: ‘We don’t want any more black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t want any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice.'”
He went on to quote Critical Race Theorist extraordinaire Ibram Kendi’s book titled ‘How To Be Anti-Racist’:
“Opening lines: ‘The remedy to past discrimination is present discrimination. The remedy to present discrimination is future discrimination.'”

After highlighting these obvious racist comments, Mr. Ramaswamy drops this fantastic and on-point comparison:
“These are the words of the modern grand wizards of the modern KKK.”
And if you follow mainstream media, that will be the only line you’ll hear that Vivek spoke. Lucky for you, I have even more accurate quotes from the event.
You might be a racist if…
Besides the fact that the one line that the media is holding onto as proof that Vivek is a dangerous man is accurate and less violent than most of the rhetoric that comes from the progressive left, the millennial candidate had a lot more to say of interest.
Mr. Ramaswamy explained:
“Pressley’s comments, in particular, deprive non-white people of their agency as individuals, treating them as a monolith based on their identity in a similar way to what the Ku Klux Klan used to do.”
He went on to punctuate his point by stating:
“The fact that we’re taught to see each other on the basis of our genetic attributes is something that would make the old wizards of the KKK proud.”
But my favorite statement Vivek made pins the tail on the racist doctrine donkey that the Democratic Party has been pushing on minorities for decades:
“I think there is no better way to disempower someone in this country, as a kid, than to say that you can’t get ahead because of the genetics that you’re born with.”

That would be the point, Vivek. Make minorities feel as though the only way they can ever be successful is if Big Government gives it to them.
Like any abusive dependent relationship, the Democratic Party believes in breaking your spirit and trapping you into thinking you need them to survive. It’s also, you know, racist.
Oh, the injustice of it all
Naturally, Congresswoman Pressley took advantage of the buzz around Vivek to attempt to fundraise, blasting out an email to supporters that said:
“We typically don’t engage in these bad-faith attacks, but yesterday, a line was crossed. A GOP candidate referred to Ayanna as ‘a modern grand wizard of the KKK’ because she speaks out against racial injustice.”
Make this make sense to me. How is saying that you don’t want black and brown faces who don’t support your political ideology, thus making them not ‘real’ black or brown voices, speaking out against racial injustice?
It’s not; it’s actually being racially unjust. Mr. Ramaswamy’s campaign spokeswoman, Tricia McLaughlin, countered:
“There is nothing more racist than to assume the color of someone’s skin dictates something about the content of their viewpoints, which is what Ayanna Pressley peddles to Americans.”
It’s not just what Ayanna peddles; it’s what the Commander-in-Chief peddled back in 2020 when he told Charlamagne Tha God:
“…if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”
It seems Ayanna is taking a page out of the book of an old white guy. According to her, if you are black or brown and don’t believe in systemic racism, are against affirmative action and reparations, and are a Republican, you ain’t black or brown.
Bravo, Uncle Joe would be proud of Ayanna.

Breaking the mold
Full disclosure: I’m not sold on Vivek. I like things about him, but I disagree with a few of his policy points.
But what makes him so intriguing to my generation, including myself, is that he is unapologetic about what he says and speaks the truth, even if it’s ugly. At the same Iowa event, he described his experience as a minority:
“The greatest racism I’ve experienced – and I have experienced racism – comes from the modern left at a scale unimaginable. Because I think they feel a sense of betrayal, saying that, ‘you’re not speaking in the tone that you’re supposed to.'”
We live in a time where we allow our thoughts and tongues to be policed by the extremes on both sides of the political aisle. We allow ourselves to be brainwashed by Big Media and Big Education, who are the puppet masters of the left, that reality is what they tell us it is versus the actual truth of reality.
In a time like this, we need more Viveks saying the things we all know to be true. But the rest of us need to do the same for it to matter.

Vivek is right. The true incendiary and dangerous statements on race predominantly come from the progressive left.
It is racist to assume and expect people to believe certain things based on the color of their skin. And that’s the truth.
